Sulking in September......
We`re now into September 2008, and there aren`t many of these nasty things left in the original livery. 222021 still is, and is paired with repainted 220017 as they approach Wellingborough on the 1st of September 2008. |
222004. Harrowden Junction 2008. I thought I`d record a few of these units while many sport varying applications of yellow! 1st September 2008. Also of note is the evidence of recent relaid track, and various equipment still waiting to be cleared! |
66529 with the 6L84 Croft-Bow. This is Harrowden Junction. 1st September 2008 |
43049 heads south at Harrowden Junction on the 1st of September 2008. Reliveried 43085 is at the rear of the train. |

321422 heads north as it passes Grange Farm on the outskirts of Northampton. These units are set to be replaced with new Class 350 units in the near future. 1st September 2008. |
On the 3rd of September 2008, 66720 is seen working the 4M23 Felixstowe-Hams Hall, and is again avoiding Northampton by taking the WCML via Weedon. This is Barby Nortoft. |
66575 (with 86622 dit) heads the 4M88 past Barby Nortoft on the mainline on the 3rd of September 2008. Freight on this line is very rare these days, so any photographs of such workings have to be taken. I could think of over a dozen locations I`d have preferred to have taken these, but as I had 'popped out' of a meeting at Crick, I had to settle for this nearby location. |
66720 with the 4M23 Felixstowe-Hams Hall, again avoiding Northampton on the 4th of September 2008. Today it was photographed near Blisworth, Northamptonshire. |
Shortly after the 4M23, 90016 approaches Blisworth with the 4M87 Felixstowe-Trafford Park. 4th September 2008. |
Loco haulage on the 1G21 Euston-Brum is back, after several weeks absence. 90019 makes a pleasant appearance on the working, and is recorded passing Barby Nortoft on the 11th of September 2008. |
All of the 350 units are now in the new London Midland colours. This one is 350125. Watford village. 18th September 2008. |
An 86 would be nice, but 90046 has got to be better than a 66 working the 4L57 Dirft(Crick)-Tilbury. This is Watford village on the 18th of September 2008. |
92005 works the 6O60 Mossend-Dollands Moor, conveying empty china clay tanks. It is photographed here passing Church Brampton, Northamptonshire on the 19th of September 2008 |
66108 works the 6A15 Bescot-Forders. It is seen passing Church Brampton. 19th September 2008. |
And a slight variation............ 66108 works the 6A15 Bescot-Forders. It is seen passing Church Brampton. 19th September 2008. |
350122 rushes south past Church Brampton on the 19th of September 2008. A further batch of these units are set to commence working on this line later in the year. Watch this space! |

After waiting patiently for the Grid, I decided to give up when a slightly early running 4L92 Ditton-Felixstowe appeared behind 90016. Long Buckby, 19th September 2008 |
19th September 2008. After giving up waiting for the 4O90 Fastline Grid, I decided to pop over to Watford gap to hopefully snap the class 90 loco-hauled Euston-Brum service. Alas, nothing showed, but to make my effort seem worthwhile, here is a test shot. The boring subject happens to be 390008. |
And another test-shot while waiting for the Skoda. 390039 sports a slight livery variation. Fascinating stuff......... |
66301 passes Wormleighton crossing, Claydon, Oxfordshire with the first working of the 6M90 Avonmouth-Ratcliffe. I had 3 locations in mind for this shot, but opted for this location as I though Kings Sutton would be too busy, and I was worried about it getting too dark over at Hatton. Maybe I`ll try another spot next weekend...... |
A closer shot of 66301 on the 6M90 Avonmouth-Ratcliffe working passing Claydon. The curves of the track combined with the trees are forgiving when cutting off the rear part of the train, but it was a shame with this working as it was quite a good length which isn`t evident with this shot. |
60077 was an unexpected surprise on the 6B30 Mountsorrel-Northampton on the 25th of September 2008. It is seen approaching Long Buckby. This was also fortunate as I was waiting to see what may be on the 4O90 today (nothing shown) and was about to give up. I`m glad I was stubborn and waited a few more minutes! |

92026 with the 6O60 Mossend-Dollands Moor on the 26th of September 2008. This is Church Brampton to the west of Northampton. |
66724 heads the 4M23 Felixstowe-Hams Hall, and is photographed here as it makes it`s way north out of Northampton. 26th September 2008 |
66569 with the 4M88 Felixstowe-Crewe passes Grange Farm, Northampton. 26th September 2008 |
At last, a well loaded 4O90 Birch Coppice-Grain, in the sun at Long Buckby! Shame it`s not a grid though, but I`m glad I managed to capture this working, which has 66420 hired in from DRS as the motive power. 26th September 2008 |
90019 with the 1G21 London Euston-Birmingham New Street is seen at speed at Weedon. The train has just emerged from Stowe tunnel. 26th September 2008 |
220023. Hatton North Junction. 27th September 2008 |
67022 leads the 1J87 London Marylebone-Wrexham past Hatton North Junction on the 27th of September 2008. 67003 is at the rear of the train. |
