The Isle of Wight Steam railway is home to two lovely little terriers, and an 'O2' locomotive, but they are all currently out of service. On the 27th of October 2008, passenger duties were in the hands of saddle tank 'Waggoner' The ex War Department locomotive is passing Ashey Ground crossing as it makes it`s way to Smallbrook. |

Since my last visit to the Island, at least two of these ex-underground trains have lost their unique 'dinosaur' livery, and are now sporting 'London Transport' livery. Nothing against this, but perhaps not entirely suited to the units environment..... Anyway, this is 483004 which is photograpjhed on the approach to Ryde. 27th October 2008 |
