47826 heads 5Z86 Carnforth - Southall, and is seen passing Barby Nortoft on the 7th of August 2009. |
With the WB64 set now in the 'new' virgin colour scheme, it surprises me that many photographers ignore the DVT leading shot. Afterall, it`s the DVT that sports the new colours, not the hired in EWS liveried or Scotrail loco!!! The suitably painted DVT leads 1B44 12:30 Brirmingham-Euston past Barby Nortoft. 7th August 2009 |
I`m not a fan of 'wire-cutters' but this shot makes a change to my norm, despite the wires here cutting into the locomotive. 66504 hauls 4M58 10:28 Southampton-Crewe BH through Great Brington, Northamptonshire on the 7th of August 2009. I grabbed this shot as I arrived, but the next 4 freights all attracted clouds in a mainly blue sky! Not even the sugar train managed to sweeten things up!!! |
So after consequtive cloudings over for 4M23, 4M81, 4M88 and 4M71, a much delayed 4H17 Wembley-Trafford Park, with 92017, 92003, and 92036 at the front, finally passes Great Brington, much to the annoyance of a little cloud which didn`t quite make it to thwart my shot! 7th August 2009 |
1B44 13:00 Brum-Euston speeds through Weedon on the 11th of August 2009. |
Typically, after class 60 making a welcome return recently on this working, the day I managed to get out for it, then the motive power reverts back to ying-ying power! 66011 works 6H50 11:59 Willesden-Tunstead, and is seen passing Barby Nortoft on the 11th of August 2009. |
90029 with 1G27 14:43 Euston-Brum passing Barby Nortoft. 11th August 2009. |
.......and when you DON`T want a third loco in the consist............ 86612 and 86604 head 4L92 14:03 Ditton-Felixstowe over 15 arches, Briar Hill, Northampton. The 66 in the consist spoils the composition somewhat, but hopefully the young angler on the footbridge would have more luck than I did! 12th August 2009. |
1B44 12:30 Birmingham NS-Euston speeds alongside the M1 just to the south of Watford Gap at Greenhills Farm, Long Buckby. 13th August 2009. |
90029 heads 1G27 14:43 Euston-Birmingham NS, and is seen approaching Bugbrooke Clumps on the 13th of August 2009. |
A vermin cattle truck passes Bugbrooke. 13th August 2009. |
Still not happy............... 56312 evades full sun yet again as it passes Barby Nortoft with 4Z91 Dollands Moor-Hams Hall. 17th August 2009. |
350115 heads away from Rugby with a southbound service. 19th August 2009. |
66573 approaches Rugby with 4M58 10:27 Southampton-Crewe BH. 19th August 2009 |
I`ll type something later.......... |
86501 makes a fine sight fronting 4M88 08:49Felixstowe-Crewe on the 20th of August 2009. She is seen passing Grange Farm, Northampton. |
86614 and 86621 approach Long Buckby on the 21st of August 2009 with 4L92 14:03 Ditton-Felixstowe. |
Tug action returns on 6H50 12:59 Willesden-Tunstead! 60009 leads the train past Barby Nortoft on the 25th of August 2009. |
4O10 12:18 Trafford Park-Southampton isn`t one of the most generously loaded trains, but shots of 92031 are few and far between! The train is photographed at Barby Nortoft on the 25th of August 2009. |
GBRF are now using ex DRS locomotive 66401, which is now debranded, although it`s previous identity is clearly evident! It is seen approaching Long Buckby with 4L22 15:16 Hams Hall-Felixstowe on the 25th of August 2009. |
Not what I came for, but I do hate those wasted trips. In an effort to compensate for more petrol wastage, 90044 was photographed working 4L75 12:10 Crewe BH-Felixstowe, passing Barby Nortoft on the 27th of August 2009. |
86501 passes Church Brampton as she works 4M88 08:49 Felixstowe-Crewe. 27th August 2009 |
Catch them while you can! One of the few remaining dusty bins on the lione, and in old livery, 321417 passes Grange Farm, Northampton on the way to Birmingham. 27th August 2009. |
47739 'Robin of Templecombe' heads a 'very' short 4Z91 12:00 Dollands Moor-Hams Hall working past Grange Farm, Northampton on the 27th of August 2009. If I`d have known about the shortness of the load in advance, I`d have chosen a location more suiting, but at least I managed to catch it, so for once I`m not going to moan.........at least, not too much! |
